Hi. Last year I joined a group of 7 women and we recorded some songs. One of the women is married to the producer and they together wrote and produced all of the songs. 1 year to date, we have a finished product. Because funds were low, the entire project was done out of the apartment of the husband and wife team, and they paid for everything. We were supposed to have CD's done, but tapes were done instead because of cost. Now, we have each been given tapes to sell -- the cost of production is close to $2000. After we sell enough tapes to pay this debt, all the tapes we sell thereafter will be split amongst 9 people. Needless to say, we will need to sell a lot of tapes just to make enough money to buy an outfit! But, in addition to that, I realize that I have no rights to any of these songs, or the name of the group, or anything! Please give me your imput on this matter.
