Copyrights and patents protect different things. copyrights exist from the moment of fixation of your creative expression in a tangible medium. You may be able to patent your idea, but i don't do patents so i don't know. You can get search info from the copryight office website http://www.loc.gov/copyright and from the patent office website http://www.uspto.gov


: i have an idea for a card game. do i need to copyright or patent it? how do i find out if the game is already in existence? thanx for any help you may give.
