: I realize you may have answered this question many times before, but I'll toss it out here anyway: How does the law view using public figures (politicians, movie stars) in a work of fiction? The idea for my story would include several celebrities (most of them deceased, but not all) as minor characters. For the most part, I intend to cast them in accordance with their public image.
