You have a copyright interest in your jokes once they are fixed in a tangible medium - eg written down or tape recorded. Write your jokes down and then register them as you would any literary work. See my copyright registration and help pages.
: Hi...I am a stand-up comedian, is there anyway I can copywrite the jokes that I spend so much time writing? I have been told it cant be done, or it would be very expensive. thanks for any help you can offer.
